Production Director
We’re seeking a Production Director specializing in audio to lead and develop a thriving production team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of technical production.
This role focuses on weekend services and building systems and teams for seamless, impactful worship experiences. Expertise in live audio and mixing is essential.
Experience with lighting direction and design in a church setting is required. A working knowledge of live video and media production is important for overall excellence.
The role oversees the entire production department, providing leadership, vision, and hands-on training to staff and volunteers, ensuring high-quality services.
Beyond technical skills, this person will mentor their team, helping them grow in their craft and personal faith. They will cultivate a culture of excellence and teamwork.

QUalifications
The ideal Production Director will have an undergraduate degree in a related field or equivalent experience, with a proven ability to cast vision, build teams, and develop systems aligned with the organization’s mission.
They should have 6+ years of experience in large church ministry or touring/live production, demonstrating leadership and problem-solving skills in high-pressure settings.
Proficiency in broadcast audio and video production, systems engineering, and management is essential, along with strategic planning, budget forecasting, and cost control skills.
A detail-oriented, adaptable, and forward-thinking approach is critical. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are needed for recruiting, mentoring, and developing staff and volunteers.
Familiarity with worship arts tools like Planning Center Online, CCLI, and SongSelect is preferred. Experience in large-church production is beneficial.
The Production Director should inspire and motivate others, build consensus among diverse teams, and lead long-term growth in live production across ministries.
Integrity, flexibility, and a teachable spirit are key, along with aligning personal preferences with the broader vision set by executive leadership.
LOgistics
This Production Director role (40+ hours) includes office hours and production duties. Standard hours: Mon-Thurs 8:30 AM-5 PM, Wed 5-8 PM, and Sun 7 AM-12 PM (7 AM call time).
Office hours may flex for evening, weekend, and special events. Weekly tasks: meetings with direct reports, creative planning, and all-staff gatherings.
The Production Director will learn current AVL systems, collaborating with the outgoing director and working with the Worship Arts Director to enhance services.
Responsibilities include documenting systems, building staff and volunteer relationships, and preparing for an AVL overhaul in 2-3 years.
Plan upgrades to FOH audio, broadcast systems, lighting design, and video screens with a designated team, focusing on improving legacy AVL systems.
